WASHINGTON, DC - Gonzaga’s Terrance Williams and
Dematha’s Hunter Dickinson each scored 18 points with each adding ten rebounds to
help propel Team Uptown in the annual Coach Francis Classic.

Dickinson was the tallest player participating in the annual Coach Francis
Classic.
Michael Sumner is a young man who thrives on competition as
he brings it every time he steps onto the court. Sumner has added some serious explosion
to his game and capable of scoring almost at anytime from anywhere on the floor
and he has the confidence to back it up. He is finishing with authority at the
rim off the deck and off the alley.
Like a box of baking soda Earl Timberlake's game has many uses - at times Earl Timberlake can look like a man among boys;
when he is forcing the action with the ball in his hands in space or
pick-in-roll situations he virtually unstoppable on every possession. He is easily
one of the most versatile players in the 2020 class – some may have a more
polished offensive game; but not many affect the game the way Timberlake does.
Hunter Dickinson is a true center with great size and
tremendous upside. He has drastically improved at running the floor and his mobility
is tremendous for a 7-footer. He has
excellent hands and finishes drop off passes and clear paths above the rim now.
He has become an
explosive and powerful finisher with both hands around the basket and his good
hands allow him to catch tough passes and turn them into baskets; his board and
full court dribble that finished with the dunk was a highlight of the weekend
and featured in Finest Magazine.
We also noticed Dickerson has developed a good left shoulder
hook with a high release and is gradually developing his right shoulder as
well. He is an excellent area rebounder especially on the offensive end and is
also a above average on ball shot blocker.
Physically he is becoming more and more immovable in the
paint as his frame continues to fill out. Hunter is also a big man who takes to coaching and
has shown great improvement over the course of his young career as a result DMV
Preps is proud to name Hunter Dickerson (Team Uptown) Co-MVP of the 2016 Coach Francis
Classic where he dropped 18-points, to go along with 10-boards, 2-assist, 1-block on 9-14 shooting even knocking down a few from distance!
What can be said about Terrance Williams that hasn’t been said;
Williams is quickly developing a chiseled frame and physique through hard work and
has a great combination of power and finesse again through hard work you are
seeing vastly improve agility, quickness, and fast-twitch action.
He proved he can step out and nail the 3-point shot or go
inside and impose his will. He's explosive around the rim dunking over 6’9
centers in game action proves that and he uses his thick frame and some unique
hang times on drives to convert in traffic. He is a terrific rebounder in
traffic due to his instincts and power and the front court is still wear he
bread is buttered but you see as a rising freshman what is in store for the
next 4-years.
Always remember we are talking about a top national prospect
in the frontcourt; the wing development will be an added versatility piece that
will make him one of the most versatile in the DMV.His work ethic no doubt lead us to believe that
ultimately the high level inside/outside combination he will become will have
many college coaches intrigued and calling for years to come – special kid and
special player any program would be lucky to have.

shooting.
Myles Stute is a high energy wing guard the can score in a
variety of ways. He can get to the rim in transition and finishes with authority
or he can stop and knock down a pull up jumper. His three point shot is lethal
and he range to 25-feet + and knocks it down with consistency; defenders must
respect him at all times.
From the wing Stute probes the defense looking for an
opening to attack to score or draw and kick to an open teammate; he show great
vision, has a unselfish nature, and is committed to making the high IQ right
basketball play. Stute attacks the top foot of defenders and possesses a great
first step; his quick catch and go move is extremely effective made more potent
by his shooting ability.
At 6’5 Myles is capable of defending multiple positions and
could develop into a lock down defender in the future because of his size and
physicality.His natural ability to
score and fluid nature in which he does it speaks to tremendously high ceiling;
Stute is just beginning to combine elite level athleticism with an already mature
and diverse skill set – we honestly assert that Stute will be and remain in the
conversation as one of the top prospects in the DMV for years to come and
conversely given the strength of the class of the market; look for him to also
impact the national ranking boards.For

Many have wondered where class of 2020 Cameron Byers the talented 6’7
forward from Baltimore would land for his high school career.Well the rumors and the wait is officially
over as Cameron Byers has formally committed to and enrolled at the John
Carroll School in Bel Air, Maryland.
John Carroll 28-11last season finished their season on a high note coming in
2nd in the prestigious Alhambra Catholic Invitational Tournament and
finishing near the top of the MIAA; the Baltimore Catholic League.John Carroll returns multiple starters and has
added one of the top guards in the country in Montez Mathis to go along with Olympian
Immanuel Quickley in the backcourt.The
addition of Cameron Byers to an already solid core makes John Carroll one of
the favorites to win the league title and a possible local team with national
ranking possibilities.
Cameron Byers will play varsity and will be looked upon to contribute immediately
as a member of the rotation and a possible starter.Byer’s who is one of the top players locally
also boast a very strong national profile having already competed against high
school level competition playing this summer in the 15U division of the UA
Association.Having added a few inches
over the summer as well as explosion and an improved face up game Byers in a
player that will garner attention from college level immediately; with a very
talented cast of players expect Byers to get plenty of looks throughout the
year and once his size skill package is on display for recruiters expert doors
to open.We anticipate a very successful
season for Byers and John Carroll who will introduce a new coach with the
departure of Tony Martin.

College High School in the Coach Francis Classic where he will compete with the
top rising freshman in the DMV.
Byers is being sought out by many local programs already for spring play and
rumors have surfaced that the talented forward may be heading down south to
Team Loaded and the Adidas circuit.A
fluid situation according to a source close to the family is one that will be
monitored by many – as there are not many players with the size skill package
that Byers possesses.
The Coach
Francis Classic has already become legendary in the Washington, DC community;
designed to showcase the DMVs top rising high school basketball talents as they
say good-bye to Middle School Basketball. The Coach Francis Classic will again
act as the grand finale to the Middle School All-American Games played on
Friday August 26th.Players will compete
in front of a national audience, major media, as well as national high school scouting
services.
The
star-studded rosters feature a proverbial who’s who of basketball in the DC
Metropolitan area and again this year will provide all in attendance with an
exciting brand of basketball!
