The Hunted to the Hunter: Saxby Sunderland is Offically On the Rader

Generally when a high school basketball player is scoring at will against defenders, possesses a silky smooth jumper, athleticism and has his team at the top of his conference, you hear about him.

Usually when a guy drops 22+ point per game, people start to take notice.

That player ascends up the national ranking board, gets the attention of national ranking services and is tossed around in college and university conversations. And generally, it's well-deserved. Usually they get noticed.

But not always.

Saxby Sunderland is a prime example of a truly remarkable talent simply floating under the radar, firmly attached to his small school identity, not getting the luxury of a big stage spotlight.

Sunderland isn't the next flavor of the month Hype. He's the next impact player at the high school level – that is just looking for a chance to prove it to those who doubt or simply don’t know any better.

Let's face it: Saxby plays for Flint Hill. Flint Hill doesn't get great exposure and is not overly well respected as a national high school basketball program. In fact, if it weren't for Saxby, we wouldn’t be discussing or mentioning Flint Hill right now.

So, needless to say like it or not, Saxby Sunderland is one of the best guards in the area and in term should be on the radar, being in this marker, of many of the top NCAA programs as of today – Saxby without question is an elite shooter who can get his teammates involved.

Specifically, he is true points that possesses length, skills, and feel for the game. As we said, he can get others involved and score as much as needed and in a variety of ways. Sunderland is a long, athletic playmaking combination guard that is a high major prospect with tremendous upside.

Long and quick with an excellent first step - he slashes in between defenders; his rhythm dribble three point shot is fluid and often get’s him in a scoring flow leading to multiple dominating possessions in transition and in the half-court.

On the other side of the ball Saxby is capable of defending both guard positions. He’s at his best and most confident when he plays to his strengths and plays position less basketball.

BREAKING NEWS: Antonio Hamlin Does What He Has To Do - Announces Transfer

In major breaking news Antonio Hamlin has announced his transfer to Combine Academy in Lincolnton, NC, leaving Mt. Saint Joseph in Baltimore, Md.  

At Combine Academy Hamlin will be able to look forward to a tailored made recruiting plan and an opportunity to develop and play his natural position at the lead guard; something MSJ was either unwilling or unable to do.  Ultimately it cost MSJ one of the top area prospects, but kudos to the individual(s) brain trust who put the players future ahead wins for program.

Combine Academy is a player-first program that works every day to ensure that their players are making progress toward their goals.  He will play a national schedule and close to 40+ games while working on his skill set under the guidance of Ex-NC Tar Heels Jeff McGinnis.  

Hamlin is blessed with great athletic ability. He is explosive and uses this athleticism to place his stamp on games. He is a tremendous leaper who right now is more of a scorer than shooter, with the ability to erupt for impressive offensive outburst at any given moment. 

He has the ball-handling skills and quickness that allow him to get to the rim, blowing right by defenders. He will stick the open jumper if defenders do not play him honest. At this juncture, he is more of a two-guard than a point guard. However, this will not remain the same as he is taught by one of the best guards to come out of the state of NC.  

Antonio really excels on the defensive end, using his quickness to cause fits for opposing guards. He plays all out, exhibiting great intensity, hustle, and desire. His competitive nature truly sets him apart from many players.

Favour Aire - He's Still #1 In the Class of 2022 #FACTS

Any publication, internet website or otherwise that does not have Favour Aire as the number #1 player in the DMV should be discredited.  

Aire is a  is a super active long skilled versatile stretch 4-four. He has a good handle for his size and is quick with the ball while being relentless on the glass. When in transition he can really get going. Favour has consistently shown the ability to finish is transition or off the catch. Likes to drive the ball hard when bigger or smaller are guarding him. We love the fact that he is an active around the basket and can get creative when finishing at the rim. Has an attacking mindset that will translate at the next level.

At 6’11 Favour currently holds offer from Rhode Island, IUPUI and Rutgers but has not visited he college campuses – so evening with a summer that remains extremely unpredictable its anticipated that the interest is going nothing but growing.  

There is not player in this class in the area that has the upside and ability that Favour does.  This is a bandwagon that doesn’t have many seat remaining get on and enjoy the ride.

The Search Begins: Area Players Being Considered for the Middle School All-American Game

The DC Metropolitan area has been selected as the site for the inaugural Middle School All-American Game; the MSAG is a middle school All-Star basketball game that will be played annually on Friday August 21, 2015 – location of game will be announced at a later date. The game's rosters will feature the best and most highly recruited middle school boys in their respective classes from throughout the county. 

The game itself is modeled after the world famous McDonalds All-American game and will consist of 22 players at each age group selected from the top 100 list as provided by various scouting services throughout the country.  

 Whereas the roster and invites have yet to be finalized early indications are that multiple players from the DMV are being considered for a spot on the roster.  It is rumored that formal invitations are scheduled to be sent within the next 30 to 45 days.  

The following players from the DMV are currently on the MSAG watch list.  Their performances at camps, year-end events, and their overall body of works will be the final determining factor for selection.

This is a national camp and event that annually host the top basketball talents in the country, many of which will be showcased in the Friday August 21^st Middle School All-Star Game.  Many national registrations have already been received from many of the nations best who will returning to improve and/or maintain their national status.
