Anthony Saunders is a player first and foremost and
currently the face of a program that is attempting to put anything of quality
on the floor in the DMV. At this
juncture it begins and ends with Anthony Saunders and Saunders represented
himself by putting on a show the entire weekend at the Basketball Spotlight
Future Phenom Camp.
Saunders excelled in the both the drill sessions as well
as the games – making the All-Star and top performance list in the
meantime. We like the motor and
play-by-play intensity. Saunders never
takes a play off and took home awards and honors from the camp for his efforts;
this includes being named Top Defender for the 2nd Year In a Row at
the event.
Anthony is a very aggressive combo guard on the offensive
end of the floor. He looks to score and has an excellent knack for doing so. He
can get to the rim on the break and has some very creative finishes and pulls
up in the paint where he uses his length and athleticism. Saunders can also knock
down the mid- range jumper off the catch or dribble. He attacks defenders in
the lane, absorbs contact and bounces into a smooth and confident pull up
jumper.
He also has a nice floater with touch and body control. Saunders scores
so well his ability to pass is overlooked. He can hit open teammates as they
cut to the basket or come off screens making him an easy evaluation at either
guard position. The key with younger
players is determining if their skill sets are transferable to the next level
or two up – check out Anthony Saunders for yourself below and see that he will
be a DMV top prospect for a long time come, is talent is undeniable.
